Re: Are Necrons Zombies?
Yeah, I think that that's the intention of the army. But in the 41st millenium Robots = Zombies. Or are Zombie Robots just a whole lot of a cooler concept.

Yeh, surprisingly called "The Zombie Plague!" Brought on by Nurgle and is becoming increasingly common near the Eye of Terror.Originally Posted by Hakagure

Re: Are Necrons Zombies?
I don't feel though that Necrons are Zombies I leave that up to chaos. I like to class them closer to Eldar a powerful malevolent force that only comes out when messed with. Or when The Adeptus Mechanicus start poking around to to much.
Chaos cultists can also be zombie like at times especially with nurgle. I remember I think it was in a white dwarf someone converted their chaos cultists in their nurgle army to be a giant mob of zombies that the CSM's would unleash at the enemy lines.

Re: Are Necrons Zombies?
A zombie is a re-animated and enslaved being, usually with no higher thought or purpose. I see necrons as ghosts/spirits/souls occupying temporary exo-skeletons to kick other species off their old turf. If anybody knows the Cthulhu-mythos, you'll get your head around dormant evil arising etc.
Only Necrons shouldn't be seen as evil. They don't share human morality and have a pretty clear plan of re-conquering the areas they once ruled. Who's to say they haven't got the right
Where there is no imagination there is no horror.

Re: Are Necrons Zombies?
Lower Necron Warriors are zombie-like. Multiple rebirths clouds their thinking.
And they're not evil. As Phaedrus said, they just took a little vacation and they've come back to find their house infested with ants. They're just spring-cleaning.

Re: Are Necrons Zombies?
I've seen many versions of zombies, but never one I would classify as "alive".

Re: Are Necrons Zombies?
Yes and No
I dont like to think of them as zombies because zombies are unorganized hordes and are all pretty much alike, the Necrons use battle formations and differ in type.
But a question.
Didnt the Necrontyr race give their souls to the c'tan for immortality? Meaning technially they never "Died" but where transformed.
P.S. Thats a question and if I'm mistaken please correct me.

Re: Are Necrons Zombies?
...aren't the Necrons harvesting souls to feed the C'tan? I don't know about you, but that makes them seem pretty evil to me. Or, at least as evil as Tyranids or Orks.

Re: Are Necrons Zombies?
They are doing that and from our Point of view that would make them evil but like machines thats what they're programed/made to do they have no opinion or feeling in the matter, harvesting is just a chore to them that HAS to be done but Tyranids and Orks Fight the imperium because THEY want to.Originally Posted by RustyKnight
Overview: Necrons would be a threat because they can not be persuaded or convinced to stop and will never surrender untill the job is done or every single last one of them is defeated.

Re: Are Necrons Zombies?
The Tyranids "want" to attack the Imperium as much as we (people) want to attack cows. Humans (and all other life) are just happy meals with legs to the 'Nids.
Orks are genetically programmed to fight. As I understand it, the Old Ones (some incredibly powerful psychic race) were trying to fight the Necron(tyr) and the C'tan. The C'tan took the Necrontyr, and gave them their robot bodies so that the Necrontyr could harvest souls for the C'tan. The Old Ones had to create allies to fight off the Necron, so they created the Eldar and the Orks. Unfortunately, the Old Ones lost. The Eldar fled to the webway and waited for the Necron to stop killing all life. The Orks meanwhile just lived due to the fact that they are all mushroom people. Inc closing, the Orks were created to kill. It is their entire culture. Just like your (our) culture promotes killing animals we deem ugly or delicious.
